Did You Know?
– In 2020, fireworks were the cause of 18 deaths and 15,600 injuries resulting in an emergency room visit
– 50% of injuries are suffered by children and young adults under 20
Sparklers, which burn at 1,200-2,000 degrees, account for over 25% of emergency room visits
– Mid-June to mid-July account for nearly 67% of firework-related injuries
– Fireworks cause roughly 18,500 fires annually. This includes 1,300 structure fires, 300 vehicular fires, and almost 17,000 other fires.
